Important COVID-19 Update How we can help you

Done is better than perfectPerfection kills productivity.

Execution creates momentum.

Today make a choice to accelerate your completion… of anything… just get it done!  If you constantly wait to make something perfect the world won’t see it.

I enjoyed a quote in Rory Vaden’s  book Take the Stairs ‘action is the inevitable pre-requisite for our success’. So true!

While my perfectionist, control freak friends (and clients) may not like this mantra ‘done is better than perfect’ – think about it… it is a fabulous mantra for you and your team this year.

As a leader you are responsible for achieving objectives, objective achieve results and results inspire change.

Here are five ways to limit perfectionism, beat procrastination and accelerate completion.

Answer email now – don’t waste time trying to craft the perfect response, answer the email with the information you have now (stop opening it and closing it and delaying the response).

Make decisions in the meeting – based on the information you have, make the call, outline the action and make others accountable. Stop wasting time having meetings to discuss the previous meeting – that’s insanity!

Limit research to three options – regardless of what you are buying or reading, decide you will look at three options, and then pick one – voila – instantly time saver.

Handwrite it – Don’t have time to type a letter, send a handwritten thank you note. People will appreciate you generosity. My friend and conference catalyst, Thom Singer has designated 2014 as the year of the handwritten note (fabulous idea). Get it out there.

Contact your client today – don’t wait for the perfect time, until you have the perfect script or the perfect product. Start a conversation today; find out what they need and how you can possibly help them – design a solution together.

Accelerate your completion by declaring your actions, make it public. This holds you accountable and increases your productivity. Simple. Done is better than perfect every time.
