Megan writes:

One of the biggest challenges in my image business is time management. When you first get started, all you have is time. You can be productive without even trying. Then, something happens. All of that work, well, works!

You get busy; you book clients and your days fill with appointments. You spend your time traveling to and working with clients. You do not have the luxury of the time you had when you first started your image business. This is a good thing, as long as you manage your time well.

For the longest time, I felt like my office days were filled with commitments like prep calls with clients, conference calls with the team, and general catch up work. All important activities but the day did not allow for enough quiet time to action long term projects and goals. I was never able to gain traction. Then I discovered No Talk Days and everything changed.

What is a No Talk Day? Very simply, a day when I do not speak to anyone: no phone calls, no lunches, no meetings, absolutely no speaking. Even my team knows if you see No Talk Day on my calendar, send me a text or an email because I am not picking up my phone. On this one day all I work on is business building activities. I can write content for our blogs and newsletters, edit eBooks, write outstanding proposals, or create new products and services. I try to schedule a No Talk Day once a week. I can’t always make that happen, but a minimum of two No Talk Days a month is a must.

Since I’ve become disciplined with No Talk Days; my productivity has increased; we are getting more things done and making more money.
If you find your schedule starting to stack up with client work – that’s a great thing! Now, consider adding a nonnegotiable day during your week where all you do is build your business.

My favorite day to schedule a No Talk Day is after I return from a trip. This way I can unpack, action my receipts and invoices quickly and give myself 4 – 5 hours of uninterrupted work. I’m writing this post on a No Talk Day. I came in last night from Washington D.C.; my kids are in school all day, and my husband is on a business trip. It took half the time to write than it usually does because there are no interruptions.

Can you fit a No Talk Day into your schedule?
