My objective: Invest 30 days in each area of my life to accelerate my own impactivityTM in the world.
Hope you are all cool with two days combined… I know I committed to daily blogging – it seems that was an ambitious goal.
Yesterday I drove to Boston for a client (instead of flying) – some of you might argue that is not productive- I disagree. While adding the time to drive to the airport, wait for my (often delayed) flight, fly, get the shuttle to the car hire, wait for the car, drive to the hotel and then check in… it actually takes less time to drive! There was actually another reason for driving…. well two really. In March I was on and off many, many flights so was excited about not getting on another plane and secondly I wanted to listen to the CDs for the National Speakers Association UNConference in Atlanta in February, specifically to Matt Church’s brilliant Thought Leadership session. I am so glad I did it! It is hard to carve out a day to listen to so many CDs but doing it while driving – very productive! One of my goals you might recall; is having a 30 minute focused conversation with someone daily. When we travel this can be harder (and it is tempting to multi task while chatting on the phone), however last night I had a brilliant Skype video call with fellow shoe lover and geeky gorgeous friend Gina Schreck. We meet weekly and mastermind, brainstorm, share, challenge and inspire each other. It is highly productive and having weekly accountability to someone increases my personal productivity – who are you accountable to?
Am I achieving all the goals set at the start of this 30 day impactivityTM challenge – nope! Am I raising my consciousness of these goals and issues – absolutely! It is easy to give advice; it is much harder to take my own advice.
Thanks for joining me on this journey, looking forward to hearing how you achieve impact each day in your life.
