ImpactivityTM: Celebrate … that’s productive!

By April 29, 2011No Comments

Day Nineteen – Twenty One 26th – 29th April 2011

My objective: Invest 30 days in each area of my life to accelerate my own impactivityTM in the world.

How productive are you when you travel? A significant amount of my time is invested travelling for clients around the world to speak to their audiences. This week I had so much fun speaking for NACE (National Association of Catering Executives) in Vegas at the Paris hotel. This organization is one of my most fun clients, they are creative and crazy and they know how to throw a party!

Many of you know I have written a lot about how to be a productive road warrior and this week I definitely was able to implement some of those strategies but I would also add – make it fun! Speaking for NACE is always fabulous and they are a really cool audience for any speaker. One of the highlights of my trip to Vegas was finding out a dear friend and fellow speaker Gina Schreck, was also in town speaking at a large convention. We were able to meet, eat and celebrate. Gina is someone I admire and also someone who is a true thought leader in social media. It got me thinking… how often do we run from one thing to the next and not stop to celebrate with those we care for? Gina and I enjoyed a magnificent dinner and view of Chandelier Bar  and talked all night (they were closing up the restaurant around us). We were able to celebrate our businesses, being together, our speeches, our friendship and the many similarities in our lives.

Today is the royal wedding and regardless of whether you are a fan or not – a wedding is a reason to celebrate! I am taking off the afternoon to spend with two special friends Meg and Livia to celebrate with a High Tea at the Four Seasons. We decided months ago we would reward ourselves for working hard in our own businesses and celebrate together (any excuse really)!

You don’t need an excuse – you can celebrate anytime. What can you celebrate today with those you love?
