ImpactivityTM: Be Lazy… be productive!

By April 18, 2011No Comments

Day Nine & Ten 15-16 April 2011

My objective: Invest 30 days in each area of my life to accelerate my own impactivityTM in the world.

Do you feel guilty about sitting watching TV or reading a book?

Do you ever feel like you ‘should’ be DOING something?

This weekend after an exhausting and exciting travel week I decided I would just see what happened? I decided to choose to be lazy… it is harder than it sounds! I even loved playing this song by Bruno Mars!

If you are a constantly busy person with a huge to-do list, constantly completing projects and thinking about your company or business you know what I mean about being lazy is hard!

My office is in my home so it is easy to always be working however this weekend I chose lazy. I chose to catch up on movies, a few TV shows I had tivoed, read articles I had wanted to research, wrote a few thank you notes to people I adore, even did a little bit of shopping. With rainy weather outside it was perfect.

Half way through my day of relaxing I had a case of the guilts – oops! Do you ever feel like that? But I ignored it and went back to laziness.

Laziness could also be called recharging time or recovery? We live in such a busy, crazy scheduled world that sometimes it is a treat to just chill out.

I must say by Sunday night my creative juices were flowing, I mapped out a cool project for September (watch this space) and I also felt more connected to those I love and adore.

So I challenge you – try laziness… it might just increase your productivity!
