Get involved in Operation Smile
In the Summer at the National Speakers Association annual convention I was blown away by one of the guest speakers; not even a professional speaker… just an outstanding human being doing amazing work!
Dr Bill Magee, a plastic surgeon, founded Operation Smile 30 years ago– a phenomenal organization providing free surgeries to repair cleft palates and other facial deformities for children around the globe. His speech moved thousands of speakers to tears and more importantly, he moved us to take action. Many of us have become involved in this organization as a result of Dr Bill Magee’s presentation. It got me thinking… what’s your HUGE project?
I have the coolest friends.
One of my friends is an AH-mazing, anonymously generous philanthropist and he is building a massive construction project on the East Coast to provide much needed residential apartments and food services to his community, another friend is funding an orphanage in Ghana, West Africa purely from her bank account and a few donations of friends, another friend funds an orphanage in Thailand established after the Boxing Day tsunami by organizing a crazy bike ride across the country side and another girlfriend raises huge amounts of money for women in her Colorado Community – what project are you doing that is so big it scares you?
We don’t have time to do everything, only time to do what matters.
What are you doing that really matters? What is your HUGE audacious project that is so big you also need people to believe in you to get it done? How are you engaging others?
