Recently I received a copy of How to Have it All by productivity and personal effectiveness expert Christina Guidotti and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Christina has created a book full of practical and implementable strategies for anyone wanting to deliver on the promises you make to yourself. Her model of personal effectiveness and fulfillment demonstrates fives levels of how to have it all
- Taking responsibility
- Finding clarity
- Making choices
- Driving productivity
- Discovering purpose
A few of my favorite parts to the book are in line with many of the concepts you have heard me share in my latest book Folding Time, especially the focus on saying no.
I liked her thought that once we decide what is important in our lives, the rest may all of a sudden seem less important. Now it is time to say no to the things that are not important, but take up our time and energy.
Write down 100 things
Inspired by Neil Jenman about listing all the things you want to do before you die. I wrote a bucket list in 1996 and have taken great joy in slowly crossing things off my list. Christina provides a template to write down your 100 – great exercise!
Deliver on the promises you make to yourself
‘For every promise, there is price to pay’ says Jim Rohn.
Time waits for no one. It is up to you to make this most of this one precious life.
If you want to pick up a book that is filled with strategies you can apply in your every day, treat yourself to Christina’s book.
