It’s no secret I hate to exercise; it’s also no secret I LOVE to eat. I love foods, I love the company of sharing a meal with someone, I love to drink champagne (with or without food) – I love it!
Unfortunately as I get older (and maybe wiser) I have also learned that no matter how much I love something, in order to be super-productive I need to be healthy. To maintain the crazy, international speaking schedule I have with the amount of travel I do requires an enormous stamina.
Many of you probably set some kind of new year’s resolutions or goals for this year and hopefully you are still going to the gym, avoiding whatever you gave up … or maybe you have already broken your promise to yourself?
This year my promise to myself is to lose the extra 22 pounds I am carrying that my poor little body doesn’t need. At only 4 ft 10 and a half (and that half an inch makes all the difference folks) these extra pounds make me tired, frustrate me and are preventing me from being even more productive.
You all know I work with a personal trainer Ed Allen who is awesome, I also eat a healthy diet however to kick it up a notch and also make myself more accountable I am sharing my goal with you – that’s putting it all out there folks.
Here are some of my guidelines I created that might be helpful to you too:
Things to ADD |
Things to AVOID |
Add veggies to everything possible | No fruit after 2.00 pm |
Exercise – 5 to 6 times per week | No carbs at night |
Cardio 3 hours per week (try for double cardio days 3 days/week) | Nowhite things |
Green tea up to 3 times per day | No eating 3 hours before bed |
Take my vitamins at night | No sweets and no dried fruit |
