Do you have someone in your life that demonstrates the highest level of personal integrity? For me, one of those people is thought leader in the area of influence, Stacey Hanke.
As the founder and CEO of Stacey Hanke Inc. she works with executives around the world to increase their influence and impact through communication skills. We were fortunate to interview her recently for our latest book and she shared some fabulous wisdom with us (we thought you might enjoy it too).
If you ask anyone who knows Stacey they will comment on a few things about her. She is engaging, high energy and always on purpose. With a crazy travel schedule for her clients (that will kill a normal person), her level of stamina and commitment to her practice is admired by many (myself included)!
When interviewing her in the area of engagement and accountability she shared the following:
Know why you do what you do – be clear on why you get up every day and share your message with the world. This clarity will help drive your decisions and communications.
Know why you say what you say – plan conversations carefully; be prepared for each conversation focused on how you can help the other person. Think strategically about the words you use, your eye connection and your body language.
Know what your top priorities are – each day on a post it note write your absolute must do’s that day, then get them done. Carry it with you until completed – it will keep you focused. If something is not a priority, pass on it or pass it along to someone who can help you.
Apply Neen’s 15 minute rule – Stacey shared this concept changed her conversations and awareness of making the most of all the minutes we have in a day.
Create accountability discipline – work with a coach, use a mastermind group and avoid distractions. Stay clearly focused on your next 90-day plan to avoid overwhelm. Know what is important to you and why and then share that with someone to help you achieve it and keep you honest.
Thanks Stacey for sharing your brilliance with us, you are someone who demonstrates integrity in everything you do. It doesn’t matter if we see you at the gym and 5 am or at client events late at night – you definitely walk your talk and demonstrate both a high level of accountability and engagement in all that you do.
