Offices close – sales teams do not.
Where we live in Doylestown PA, the most common conversation right now is about the weather: the snow, the ice, the next storm and how grumpy everyone is about the weather.
As a productivity expert and mentor I am fortunate to work with some of the coolest clients on the planet including Comcast Spotlight. Today I was copied on an excellent email from one of a brilliant Director of Sales, Ted. He was proactively assisting his team prepare for the upcoming storm. He is a high performer and respected by his team and his peers and I loved his practical approach and realistic advice given yet another snow storm on the way, so I have paraphrased his brilliance below and hope it helps you stay safe and productive during this weather.
Offices Close Sales teams do not- Ensure you have laptops, files and anything you need to manage your accounts or create proposals for the clients you serve.
Your Car – Check you have a full tank of gas, extra blanket, candle with a coffee can, small shovel, salt and cat litter in your trunk.
Your House – Ensure extra supplies of batteries, candles, firewood, enough food and a plan on where you can go if you lose power. If you do not already have a generator, start making plans to add a generator over the next year.
CASH – In any extreme situation it is important to have extra cash on hand. When everyone needs something at the same time the person with cash usually wins i.e. taxis, snowplows and help from a stranger.
No one needs to be surprised by this storm – plan to protect your family, yourself and be productive.
This is great advice, so I am heading out to the supermarket to buy some of his recommendations and putting extra fuel in my car, what can you do to prepare for the storm? Share your ideas with us here on our blog.
Have a fabulously productive week and stay warm.
