Ask for Help: Accelerate results

Little engine that couldHave you ever read the book The Little Engine That Could?

I’m I training for a marathon (just a few weeks away) and my friend (and virtual running partner) Noah suggested I read this book.  Great reading and I enjoyed several lessons from this powerful children’s story.

‘I think I can’ – Our minds are stronger than we realize and sometimes it takes our head to get into the game, so our hearts and bodies follow along. What have you been putting off that you need to believe you can do?

Ask for help – the little engine asked a variety of engines before an unlikely one said yes. Keep asking. I was listening to one of my most fave audio programs on a particularly hard long run and was reminded of the power of asking for help.  Often people want to help us – we just need to ask with respect and no expectations. Who could you ask for help?

Find someone to believe in you – this is vital.  I’m fortunate to have a fabulous team of people as a virtual cheer squad. Who believes in you? Just a hint, you might need to remind your cheer squad you occasionally need them to remind you that ‘you can do it, and they believe in you’.

Whatever you are working on right now, training for a marathon, wanting to ask for a pay rise or promotion or maybe expand your circle of friends … You can do it.  Just think you can, keep asking for help and find someone to believe in you.
