Be Ah-Mazing: Systemize Thoughtfulness

By June 23, 2015One Comment

You don’t have time to do everything, only time to do what matters.Thank you card

Leaders of influence know people matter. To continue to reach out and connect with people around you and remind them they matter, we believe you can systemize thoughtfulness.

Here are a few strategies we use:

Use your cell – this tiny little computer you carry in your hand also is brilliant for sending a text to remind someone you thought of them, randomly leaving an encouraging voicemail or sending a fun picture to remind them of a fun event you have been at together. Your phone is always with you – take a moment to remind someone they matter today.

Carry stamped stationery – no one writes letters anymore (sigh), the power of a personal note stands out in the world of electronic communication, status updates and likes. Show someone you care by writing a note of appreciation; you’ll be so glad you did.

Use a wall calendar – we received a gorgeous illustrated wall calendar from our talented friend and author Jason Kotecki so we used it to write a name of someone on every working day so I could surprise them with a connection. Easy peasy.

Create systems for days of the week – you might decide to reach out to a family member Monday, girlfriend Tuesday, colleague Wednesday, and community member Thursday … you get the idea!

How do you stay in touch with people and remind them they matter to you? We’d love to hear your ideas, share them with me on this blog.

Hi Neen, a couple of ideas to share around thoughtfulness….ping on birthdays, show up with soup, keep a running list of those who are experiencing health issues, grief from loss of a loved one, and job loss. A weekly reminder of your prayers and thoughts is a shining light.
