Say Thank You Often

By November 11, 2014No Comments

Today is Veteran’s Day in the USA. A day of reflection and gratitude for those who have served in the armed forces. In Australia, the day is called ANZAC day.

It’s important to take a few moments today, reach out to someone you know who has served, and tell them how much you appreciate all they do and have done.

Practicing gratefulness is a brilliant daily activity.

Influential leaders understand to make more impact every day they stop and reflect on people who have affected their lives… and they take time to acknowledge them.

Stop and say thank you – today’s challenge is to say thank you for anyone who provides you with a service. We are surrounded by people who help us to get things done, do they know how much you need an appreciate them?

Make the most of every moment – you get 1,440 minutes in a day. We challenge you today to take just a few extra moments to be fully present in a conversation with someone, turn off your technology (or ignore the constant messages and sounds), give someone the gift of your undivided attention today. Are you stopping to make the most of all the moments that matter?

Send a thank you note – that’s right, handwrite. Can you take a few minutes to write someone a note, maybe even a post it note? Surprise someone you live with a love note on the bathroom mirror, buy a team member a coffee and leave a post it note saying you appreciate all they do, send someone an email just thanking them for doing business with you, call a friend and remind them of the impact they have on your life, write an encouraging note on someone’s Facebook wall – there are so many ways you can make someone feel like they matter today.

In the busyness of our every day we are all striving to get more done… however the most productive people I know, do less, not more. They do more of things that matter.

What are you going to do today to elevate gratefulness? We’d love to hear your what you did so, please share your ideas with us here on our blog.
